INTO THE DREAMSCAPE 2024
Ask your friend about their personal experiences about the Church growing up and the answer typically talks about the overwhelming sense of restriction in their childhood. Into the Dreamscape is a reflection of those moments, and the dotting invitational eyes of the adults that may have left a rebellion of questioning what a church stands for. The uniforms in the show and their presentations is a reflection between the reality and false impressions, such as a cassock that labels Holy and Innocent in a sarcastic tone, or a hussar jacket that presents the uniform at the helms at the church to be wrapped in chains and carries the victims of their members, carrying their virgin hair on their necks. The use of shoulder roping on these uniforms throughout the theme of the collection represents power and strength for our characters we created. The introduction of tweed this season was specifically in the imagination of the flight bomber MA-1, both represent a time and period of the working class as most military garments pass down to children to be worn on their day to day lives to and be then reuse and found in donation boxes or passed on. We use both classic to our ethos and reimagined silhouettes that represent the rebellion nature of the collection as well as being comfortable and chic. Our heavy set use of denim for our garments represents that same illustration we want to convey, materials often represented for the day to day lives for the characters we created. The use of lace over garments and bags works as a contrast of anonymity yet a transparent veil, sometimes our intuitions can tell what things really want to be but tend to be filled with bullshit. Into the Dreamscape tethers to what it feels like to relive childhood dreams in a restrictive environment, a runway that combats the hard and heavy emotions having to be a certain standard in such spaces with authority figures. Like dreams represent as imagery for our development of our day to day life, the Dreamscape wraps fear, ambition and rebellion in a collection.
